Hand Washing.

People seem to be buying soap up by the trolley load. :-) Didn't they wash their hands before this latest virus? However, I'm so pleased that I now know how to wash my hands thanks to BBC News. Mind you, I must say that it has been my observation in male public loos that many just twiddle their fingers under the running tap without soap and many don't bother at all, so this must be quite a novelty for them.

Thanks, you too. I imagine that we lungies/hearties are accustomed to being diligent, but alas, age in my case sometimes makes me forgetful that there is in fact this coronavirus around. I notice that our Health Minister appeared to be telling porkies on Question Time when he stated that the Govt was closely working with the Supermarkets to ensure food supplies were not affected, the Supermarket execs however state that, having rung each other, no one from the Govt has been directly in touch with them at all. Politician = liar, how unusual.

Many years ago, there was a survey done on what was on the little bowls of peanuts and crisps that some pubs put out along the bar, everything salted so as to make you thirsty. The reason this stopped, was because of the horrid high levels of bugs from the toilet area, that were on all these snack items!!! UGH

They also have found it on ice in pubs etc. Yuk!

Truth at last!

ha ha Love the photo :D

Hence the reason why they are pushing washing your hands, (for those who don't and to know how to wash thoroughly) :D

Very true I have seen people cough everywhere sneeze then wipe face then open doors in hosp or shops or even they spit on the floor and worse more come out of toilets then hold shopping trolleys

I always carry antibacterial wipes, people can be thoughtless, and well gross at times.

Stay safe,

Meg

I have to agree . At hospital last week saw nurse put both hands to her nose then touch medical notes ??? Where’s the protocol ?

A lot of sportsmen spit onto the pitch and then someone else falls over on the pitch, it seems pointless to ban the handshakes, for as long as they spit!!!

Apparently, not. We were in vogue, with all our handwashing and antibacterial gels and wipes...we just didn't know. I also keep the small bottle of Listerine in my purses...my GP gave me that tip a few years ago. Makes sense.

Enjoy your weekend, stay safe and well,

Meg

The utter ridiculousness of this whole thing makes me laugh. I live in Cornwall where we haven’t had a single case of it yet you cannot buy hand sanitiser for love nor money. Utter madness!! I always carry some in the car and obviously wash my hands regularly, but you are right. So many seem incapable of washing their hands properly, if at all (and using hot water? A rare occurrence)! If everyone just did that one thing, this would never have become such an issue.

My thoughts exactly. I’ve always been a bit of a clean freak, my mother used to say I had some sort of illness as I washed everything and anything in sight including my hands at least every ten minutes! So I am shocked that people seem to have no stocks of hand soap at home or a hand sanitiser or two going spare. I’m grateful that my obsessive compulsive cleansing illness has paid dividends for once because it’s cost me a fortune in soap powders etc over the last 60 odd years.

Ha! Love the picture Johnem, humour helps with this terrible time we are going through. The problem with the people who have bought up all the hand supplies probably wont use them more than a couple of times before the novelty wears off, just like hand washing x

Regarding hand washing, an expert on the radio was concerned, we go out, come back in, wash our hands and then use our smart phone, do we EVER clean the screen on our smart phone. Must be cleaned when we wash our hands, or we just reinfect our finger ends, and the hand that holds the phone.
