Hello all,

We’re reviewing our information on eating well with a lung condition and are looking for new case studies.

We’re ideally looking for people who have lost weight because of a lung disease diagnosis, or someone who has put on weight/struggled to maintain their weight, also because of a lung disease diagnosis.

If this is you, and you’d be happy for your story to be featured, please email publications@blf.org.uk

Alternatively you can call us at the helpline on 03000 030 555 if you would like further information.

Thanks all and take care,

Marie

Why not contact the British Dietetic Association about eating with lung diseases? They may be able to help too.

Hello Ergendl,

I have had a glance over the webpage of the British Dietetic Association and it has useful information.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post!

Take care,

Well what a coincidence! At our local breathe easy group our guest speaker in February was a dietitian. So a healthy balanced diet is on my mind just now.

Her advice was really good. She took us through the minefield of false claims and fad diets. Common sense prevails. Our speaker recommended a well balance plate, lots of variety. To enjoy our food. Even eating foods other so called experts tell us not too if that's what we can manage.

I am overweight. I'm greedy and my husband is a 'feeder'. He dishes up enormous portions.

However, my difficulty in breathing after a meal and the sound advice from the dietitian have made me determined to be more sensible. So smaller portions but still enjoy eating.
