I am just the same it's not nice, have a lovely day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx
Have you tried Xylimelts? The lovely Barbs recommended these and they’re great 👍 (I don’t personally use them but my mum does)
G & T?
I have a condition called Sjogren's Syndrome (pronounced Showgrin's) It causes moisture producing glands to stop working. I have no tears, saliva or mucous. It's awful, especially at night.
Biotene gel and mouthwash.
I have artificial tears and artificial saliva spray on prescription LP. Also nasal spray but I don't like to use it more than prescribed as it has steroids in it.
Biotene mouth gel or the mouth wash is not a medicine. I find it good. You can get it on line and from chemists. I have tears on prescription. Tried 2 different types but not impressed. Hope you find something.
Since I started experiencing this.. I have a thermos (so it is covered) cup of water next to the bed. Think mine is due to breathing through mouth during the night.
Yes, Im another on the forum who has this problem. I don't like the Saliver replacement gels at all. A drink helps but what I really prefer are Ricola herbal sweets, sugar free. They are not too big and I like the elderflower flavour best. They moisten and are very pleasant to suck. They also work.
Thank you.
I used to have this problem till I realised I was sleeping on my back With my mouth open in spite of good nasal breathing. You can get devices online.
I used a small tennis ball under my chin worked well.
Hi I suffer with a dry mouth particularly at night - then I found XyliMelts. They are dissolvable discs that slowly melt over night and lubricate the mouth. I can now sleep 7/8 hours a night without the problem. There are lots of places to buy them just put XyliMelts in a search and take your pick. They have changed my life definitely worth trying them. Barbs x
It sounds obvious, but are you sure you aren’t dehydrated? Dehydration is very, very common and many people don’t drink enough water, leading to headaches, dry mouths at night, constipation and a world of woe.
