Hi

Does anyone have any advice/experience of the type/make of face mask when carrying out diy and gardening tasks around the home?

Good morning Smilesmiles! I bought a reusable cloth mask from Amazon. I really like the idea of being able to wash it rather than throw it away. Unfortunately they no longer sell the kind I have, but Amazon carries a variety of face masks, at least you can look at them and see if anything suits you.

I tried wearing a mask but my glasses got steamed up and I can't see a thing without them. Good luck tho

I wear glasses as well and don't have any problems with them fogging up when I use a cloth face mask. I guess it just depends on the individual.

Paper mask with an exhalation valve reduces the problem with breathing out around the edges, which is what causes glasses to mist up. You don't need anything fancy because most of the dust/mould from gardening/DIY is large diameter and probably not respirable, unless you do a lot of sanding.

Hi Smiles, I have tryed all the masks on the market in the country's that I have lived in and I have found that all the disposable one's are completely useless for people who have serve respiratory conditions I suffer from 5 of the worst lung conditions and need to wear a industrial style respirator as it needs to block all cigarette smoke, chemical vapours, smog and wood smoke. I have found only 2 brands provide the right protection for me. 1. Is the protector brand of respirators. And

2. Is the 3m brand of respirators.

In both of these products need to be rated for Gases, vapours and small smoke particles. They are the only one's which give you 100% protection. It took a lot of trials to find that these where the best by far. I hope that this helps you and if you would like any other help just reply to me. I will to help you the best I can.
