Ongoing problems post chest infection

Hi All, just looking for some advice. I'm 50 with no previous underlying health problems, ex-smoker and usually fit and healthy. I had gastroenteritis/diarrhoea over xmas which cleared on the 5th day but on the same day I started to develop a chest infection which gradually got worse until i started Antibiotics. Things gradually improved over two weeks and i started exercising again but in the 3rd week post chest infection my chest has become tight, some upper back pain and i have an intermittent cough. Continue to feel generally unwell, tired and appetite not great. Had chest xray and bloods and should get results from xray today hopefully. When i've had chest infections in the past they usually resolve and things continue to improve but i'm just wondering how common ongoing problems are. I've always had what i would call a 'weak chest' and i blame (quite reasonably!) 20 years of heavy smoking. Great forum and thank you for any advice you can give. Best wishes, Alan

Hi Alan sorry you've not been to well. Hopefully your Dr will have the results from your X ray and bloods and be able to answer some of your questions. Take care Xxx
