There have been 63 suspected cases of the coronavirus under investigation in the US, the CDC said during a press conference. Of those 63 suspected cases, two were confirmed: a patient in Washington state and the new patient in Chicago. Eleven of those cases tested negative for the virus.5 hours ago

True. A bit of a panic going on here, especially as SARS was much worse and more widespread. Still, as a historian I am pleased that the Chinese are employing the methods which eventually contributed to the demise of plague in Europe. sshh don’t tell anyone that it still exists in California and Vietnam or there will be a wailing in the rafters.
