Reading poetry can be good

When otherwise you maybe would

Have difficulty because you're ill

With pleasant thoughts your head to fill

While usually very short in stature

They could contain the state you're after

For each word will be picked with care

In an effort to guide you where

No bad thoughts will ever dare

To intrude on the peacefulness that you find there.

Poetry is really good

Writing it is understood

To be good for the little grey cells

Helping to keep you focused and feeling well

You are excellent our dear Don

Never one to be put upon

Raising a smile everyday

Keeping loneliness at bay.

Thank you again Don. Xxxxx

Good morning Mr.D and what a terrific rhyme for a Sunday. (Not that there's any 🌞 here today). One of your more thought triggering rhymes. They make you read, stop and reflect. Good one Mr.D. Hope you have a good day.💞

Of course I'm not talking about my stuff here which are rhymes and not poetry. There's nothing uplifting about rhymes like Humpy Dumpy, quite the reverse, but a smile can help and laughter even better if can be achieved.

Mr Don! With pleasant thoughts in my head...

I am happy, I am not dead!

My lungs are in need of great repair....

I also know, you too, live there!

I lost my grey cells long ago

Where they went i do not know?

Don and Sassy still have their cells

Creating literary magic spells

Even Scruff's is known to write

The odd cat poem penned through the night

Me i wonder where those cells went

Perhaps the result of a life misspent? :) x

Please don't majji i probably wouldn't understand the reply and i am only hanging onto my broadband by the skin of a mini hub donated by my service provider, the subsequent googling to work out what you said would see me slip into the dark web. :) xx

That actually sounds quite exciting SirSki ;-)

Oh how dim I am - I have only just absorbed the very clever majjisty spelling, well done SirSki ;-)

Understandable Ma'am you are very busy at the palace at the moment with some wayward children that are bringing the family into disrepute. :) xx

majji in reply toskischool

Lol - I was tempted to write exactly what I thought about that wayward child however I do not wish to end up in the Tower so best keep my thoughts close to my chest ;-) xx

I think we would both be losing our heads in more ways than one and we best keep our counsel. :) xx

Can't argue with that one lol - good night to all xx

You do very well with it miniscule or not! 😎👍 I thought I'm better edit this to point out that I'm referring to your broadband gadget and nothing else. (That I know of. 😁 )

I am convener of a poetry reading group for our local U3A which meets monthly. There are six of us and we all thoroughly enjoy it. The poems can make us laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time!
