Remembrance Sunday? Xxx
Lest We Forget? We will remember them.....
No, Iris, will do the serious poems I just try to make people smile. Some might think not on Remembrance Day but we tried to keep smiling through even the darkest days.
Rememberable Sunday and our brave men and women who have everything for us.πͺ xxx
No, it takes professionals to do them justice.
Looking forward to reading it. Iβm guessing itβs about the colder weather π€

Remembrance
whilst my thoughts often remove to 11.00am on the nearest Sunday to the 11th November 1945, they will certainly be there on the day of the 11th
my father, who passed on peacefully in 2009 was a tremendous supporter of the RBL Poppy Fund being a significant collector in and around Abingdon in Oxfordshire for a number of years
he always attended a Remembrance Sunday Parade, mostly at Botley which I believe supported RAF Abingdon - he had been based in RAF Abingdon for his last posting and had been in the RAF since 1940/41 [not too sure which year he started]
Bill McLay had been in Bomber Command through the war Years and for much of his time in the RAF until his retirement in the sixties
I do think of him lots anyway as he was such a great man but this time of year I remember him all the year with his birthday falling on November 22nd as well
having been born in 1924 it can be seen he was a mere youngster in entering Bomber Command in 1940/41 definitely one of those special humble people and not just our family, he touched an awful lot of people wherever he went
That's what I shall be thinking of in just about an hours time and then again in 24 hours time, so thankyou Don for your timely reminder
and a peaceful time to all
It was Katebeach who reminded us Wullie but I'm so glad you wrote about your father here. I'm sure lots of people will read it and remember also. If you have a photo of your dad could you post it here for us to see on this Remembrance Day?
Is it about Christmas items being on sale before Halloween?
Ha ha I've been tempted, but doing that would be committing the crime that I often complain about, even talking about it! π
Actually Don, there is a word we used as kids which is kaka, from Greek, which means "bad thing" or human excrement. Well you started it!
Iβve heard mothers using that in baby talk to their children years ago, theyβd be surprised to be told they were teaching their kid Greek.π
I remember that from when I was a kid - in Wales! I'm sure my Mam didn't know it was Greek either, but there again, she was a crossword fanatic... π€π
Thanksgiving xx
Is that the day we gave America it's independence? πxx
