Being Eighty-eight.

Now I quite like being

A man of eighty-eight

It doesn't happen quickly

I had a lengthy wait

Of course it brings some problems

Bits keep falling off

And then to add to all of that

I have a nasty cough

The breathing's got all noisy

There's wheezing there as well

The tummy makes a bit of noise

The reason I can't tell

My eyes alone are excellent

Sometimes I wish they weren't

When I look into the mirror

I see there's lessons to be learnt

To much food and drinking

I see have left their mark

Through a bit of raucous living

The evidence is stark

But those days are over

And cannot be rerun

So whilst I like being eighty-eight

I'd rather be twenty- one

Not much that we can do

No point in feeling dour

If too many bits keep falling off

It might just change your shape

Feel lots better, rid of cough

And get some sticky tape!

I am not too sure if i really like being old

I may be a little wiser but i always feel the cold

I rue the day that i first started wearing glasses

Now everything is just a blur as time so rapidly passes

Digesting things is difficult when you don't have many teeth

So it's chicken soup for dinner and no more crispy beef

But one good thing about aging and i sure you would agree

Free bus passes and concessions are available to me.

Good Morning Don and Everyone else

Dont often comment but read every post every day

Had a horrible time since end of june 7 flare ups june till Oct 4 of them being phenomena

Depression at its lowest have curved spine so makes copd bad most days with my organs being squashed I very rarely get more than 3 hrs sleep

But YOU make me laugh with your patter

BUT USE ALL OUT DONE YOURSELVES TODAY

so I laughed so so hard I struggled to breath thoughts use were trying to kill me

😂😂😂 thank you thank you thank you for making the start of my day with laughter and joy I haven't laughed so hard in a while

As I said I'm on every day but not always up to talking but wanted to say everyone on here are truly amazing inspirational people

Stay Blessed and As happy as use all appear to be

Although I think like me some are very good at putting the daily face on pretending everything is fine I know I definitely do but if it let's people relax and not feel bad for me I'm good with that

Yes it was my birthday on the 7th and I really am now 88.
