My wife learnt a few North Walien words to speak when we entered places where it went quiet when we walked in then started in Welsh. She reckoned it stopped them talking about us when they found we were English but understood Welsh. 😅 I've always found the people as friendly as you will find anywhere when they find you like a chat, which I always do.😉
Yes but there are some very old fashioned Welsh in the Valleys who can be very rude. I am happy to say although from the Valleys I am a very nice lady lol 🤣🤣💕x Sheila
I think it was quite early in the morning when I was getting ready to walk down to the farmhouse you can just see on the right for my full Welsh breakfast. It’s actually a B&B but Mrs E let’s me join her guests in the breakfast room.😬
We all have memories of visiting a particularly special place Don. I find old photograph albums are a great source of pleasure. Although photographs can be viewed on your phone or online, these days, I for one feel they will never replace albums.
Used to go to LLangolen a lot , Rhyl, Horseshoe Pass, and the Long named Train station a few Times, My Dad was Welsh, never got to learn from him though, He passed when I was 4. A Beautiful Country. Your View show's it. Thank You Don.xxx
You’re improving my geography no end. Had to look up Llandanwg on google maps as had never heard of it and there it was not far from Barmouth, which I visited my years ago as a friend of ours had a house there.
A very wistful Poem from you today, Don.
Lots of happy memories.
Hope you enjoyed your special day with the two fat ladies, the knitted girlies and Midge.
Love
Corin
Ps I enjoyed the drinks in your honour and Skis- a very nice Chilean Malbec which a friend brought round yesterday to cheer me up.
Another memory jogged there, Don. Many years ago Tony and I went to Wales on our Lambretta. We needed direction, and stopped to ask the way to "Cry seeth" ?! The man nearly had a fit - "Cry seeth" mon, ? You mean
"Cricceth"! Never forgot that, we had a good laugh about it later. Love Iris x
I am from South Wales. Born in a village called CWMGWRACH. English meaning "The Valley of the Witches" My husband reckons I have a sixth sense lol.I know a few spells but they are all nice ones lol. 🤣🤣 Happy Birthday to you and I wish you Good Health . xSheila
Well you are absolutely right Don as he does call me the Cwmgwrach Witch sometimes 🤣 he will never leave me it will cost him too much and I may put a spell on him lol.😱😱 We are very happy as we lived in Midde East .Far East and Asia for.almost 40yrs as Gary worked there building Airports ,Roads bridges High rise building .army camps etc etc .both my daughters went to school in Dubai and Oman.great life really miss it now we have retired and back home.😥😥 xSheila
😅 I've fallen out with Cricceth. I found this year that they have installed a height barrier to prevent me using my favourite perch giving a panoramic view of the bay. 🙁
Thank you Lynn, I missed your reply to my query about your English breakfasts so that must make us quits. 😁 A good English/Welsh breakfast sets one up for the day.
