Christmas is coming
We're all afraid of that
And sticking to a diet
To stop us getting fat
Why do you think that is
Think that we are dumb?
Do you not appreciate
Every turkey has a Mum ๐ฆ
Christmas is coming
We're all afraid of that
And sticking to a diet
To stop us getting fat
Why do you think that is
Think that we are dumb?
Do you not appreciate
Every turkey has a Mum ๐ฆ
Turkeys only half of it,
Thereโs mince pies and Christmas pud,
Lots and lots of food to eat,
For the waistline itโs no good
Iโm thinking of the birds poor mum
Now that her turkeyโs toast
It really doesnโt seem too fair
Maybe weโll have nut roast!
Dedicated to you dear Don. Xxx๐๐
You are getting rather good at this Cassy and Master Po can hand over the reigns should he ever need a break to your trusty hands. xx
I really don't like Christmas and think it's rather boring
Bored family's watching Tv while granddad lays there snoring
As for the blooming Turkey a rather dry old bird
And brussel sprouts are horrible the whole thing is absurd
Everyone is worried about putting on some weight
Though in reality for some it's far too late
So lets bin it this year and go somewhere for some sun
We can sit beside the swimming pool and really have some fun. x
Sounds good skis but Iโll miss my sprouts.....oh and Pete plus the rest of the family of course! Oops! Xxx ๐๐๐๐
You sound a right old misery, Skis.....whatโs happened to the bright side?? Wouldnโt swap my once-a-year tasty turkey dinner, plus all the trimmings, for a swim! xx
Penzy all i can say is Humbug, actually i have always hated Christmas,i must have been a very deprived child or forced to attend Christmas Pantos and eat sprouts. xx
Well, skizee, I think youโre spoiling your reputation here as our main cheerer upper. Humbug to you, too.
Maybe I got off to a good start for Christmas cos we lived in a pub and the spirits were raised (pun intended!) very easily, what with decorated trees in the bar, as well as by our fireside and a โrealโ Father Christmas visiting. I enjoyed the sixpences I was given by the patrons, the huge oranges in boxes from the docks at Liverpool, the huge tins of sweets that seemed to pass over the bar to help us enjoy ourselves. The turkey dinner was a real treat, with the bar closed for a change, and the family happy about that. Never went to a pantomime till I was a Mum myself, and Iโve always loved sprouts in turkey gravy with a sausage! (Sprouts need to be small and sweet though, and not over cooked!)
I wonโt go on! These days a lazy time in front of the tv would suit me fine..... xx
I think i would like an old fashioned traditional one where by you went out and picked holly and stuff and there were real trees decorated with hand made decorations etc etc but now it is just commercialised crap and repeats of whatever on the telly,no give me a sunny beach any day xx
I go along with that, i dont like turkey or Christmas pudding, and hate sprouts because they are cooked too much usually. I have never cooked a turkey and i worked on call at christmas for quite a long time. Ate lots of smoked fish and cold meats as a treat
You can stuff your turkey!
Spot-on Don
Oh ! no please dont mention that word yet, its far too early x
Sorry, it was meant to be about ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆs. Interesting birds.

My friends x bought a small holding up in the tops near Buxton and they laughed their socks off when they asked me to go open the shed to let the turkeys out, not knowing they would chase me round, scared the life out of me x
Evening Mr.D and I'm going to be a real Christmas humbug ... I just loathe most of the commercialisation that goes with it nowadays. Plus I can't stand turkey ,so usually settle for ๐ ๐(think that's a chicken leg?).๐๐
My in-laws have a strange tradition by having their Christmas Day on the 25th November. Nothing to do with religion, it's just that the family is spread all over the place and have their own functions plus travelling is so difficult over the holiday period. That suits me because I try to ignore Christmas now as much as possible.
I like my Christmas dinner
The turkey- and the pud
I like the Christmas crackers
And the Christmas cake is good
I don't mind the odd mince pie
And I enjoy a glass of wine
But I just love the sherry trifle
That really is divine
I also like the Christmas cards
They brighten up the room
With the fire lit and curtains drawn
I forget the winters gloom
With lots of cheese and crackers
Sausage rolls and sherry
A box of choc's close to hand
Christmas will be merry
๐๐๐
But........not yet, please ๐ณ๐
๐ ๐ , he just needs a bit of work I think - if he can make us laugh, just got to try and return the favour haven't we.
I'll buy him a bag of humbugs I know he likes those. ๐
