Taking Prednisolone if that’s the correct spelling for a Steroid for chest infection.all good.

Hi yes l was on it for a week with no ill effects on good cleared chest infection quickly, l was more concerned about my Glaucoma but that was fine as well as the doctor said it would be.so all good.

Hi ,Harrietia ,how many prednisalone have you taken per day ,im on my fouth day of four a day ,gp told me to take six per day ,i drped to four my self as i dont sleep one wink on six,im just wondering is this the reason my chest doesnt feel much better also taking doxycycline

Alice70. I took 6 a day for 7 Days with food to no ill effects and infection cleared.hope yours also improves.

Hi harrietia.i took it for two weeks for a bad lung infection,four out I had ocpd at the same time! It helps the antibiotics work faster apparently,and made me eat like an hungry dog! If you take it long term be careful about being out in the sunshine as it can bring you out in blisters! One of my doctors wanted me to take it long term with a steroid inhaler,but I didn’t want to because of the side affects,like feeling hungry and it works similar to amphetamines it makes you up and down and messes with your sleep! A week’s course shouldn’t give you these symptoms though!Before taking them I was not well collapsed with the lung infection,weighed 7 and a half stone and was a heavy smoker,I put on weight and got to 12 half in less than a year! Don’t know if that’s through the pills or kicking a 40plus yr habit! 20 mths later just got weighed and down to 10 and half and still stopped smoking!
