I saw this lovely lady,

She really caught my eye.

She made me stop to look at her

I could not pass her by.

I thought I'd like to meet her

And made my way inside,

Pretending not to notice her

Whilst trying to decide.

Should I take her home with me

Or would that be unwise.

A single man living on my own,

I'd be viewed with some surprise.

What the heck I took her up,

And made towards the door.

Paid ten quid to the charity shop

And not a penny more.

Now here she sits without a stitch

My Black Art Deco Figure.

She gives me lots of pleasure

But I wish her lamp was bigger.

Good morning Mr. D and a very happy person πŸ˜ƒ I am to scan through your rhyme very quickly, only to read 🎷🎺🎢 ,you've found yourself a woman, who caught your eye and it was πŸ’ž love at first sight by all accounts!

Oh happy 😁as I am for you, there is some uncertainty about her age and she could well come from the Art Deco era but kept good care of herself! As we all grow older we don't want any surprises that will upset us ......did she tell you her name and did she come with any paperwork πŸ“œ ?

In any event, she made your day a good one and will go down in my books,as a real Mr.D Classic !!!!

I've had a morning from 😈 hell so you could not have timed it better because you and the Art Deco lady have had me laughing out loud!! πŸ™‰

To be honest SH I've since found that she's a bit of a flighty bit well know around the charity shop fraternity.

Now that's just blooming typical, isn't it . I trust that Midge isn't at all bothered by her presence but I'm thinking of Scarecrow Sally & Dolly even know about her. If Art Deco lady isn't going on any travels with you ie she'll be house sitting, then best option is to not let the girls know. Just imagine them all fighting over you!

So dodgy lamps and figurines are what caught our dear Don's eye

when i thought your mind was really set on Kate's steak and kidney pie

And what thinks Midge of this dark and sultry guest

Probably thinks the man's gone potty and certainly past his best. :)

Gave me a giggle, looking at women's lib. (for those of us who are straight) was trying to think what I could buy in a second hand shop, much too little available, can only think of Greek/Roman statues, I do not think they do lamps of those, shame!!

Just the lamp. I declared my true love on here some time ago and a table lamp is no substitute. πŸ™
