Morning Mr D. and this is a day of celebration indeed !!ππ Scarecrow Sally , and Dolly must be jumping with joy knowing that a full MOT has been given and there's very little stopping you now,to go out galavanting!! πππ. It's another Mr.D. Classic for sure!!!!!
Well I don't think they'll get over excited by their first trip which will be in a few minutes to Tesco Extra. π It's going to be Monday before we set-off for further pastures.
Well done Mr D and a fine looking camper van she is. Im sure that you will be out and about as usual with Midge wanting a run on the beach or maybe a walk x
The camper is looking quite good for her age (17 this year), I treated her to a bit of a make-over recently. Midge is 12 so doesn't do as much running as she used to do, but she likes finding new things to sniff. π. I just sit there drinking coffee and reading my paper.
You must have nerves of steel Master Po,i have to be at least a mile away from an MOT testing station whenever my most recent chariot needs to go through the ordeal and i know that feeling of relief when they hand you a certificate with the word PASS on.
Happy travels...................Ski's and Scruff's x
I have a pretty good arrangement. Two brothers, one does only serving and the other only MOTs, so I have it serviced first and then MOT'd so never had a fail yet. Sometimes the cost of the service includes a repair job.
Actually I've just remembered that I did have a bit of trouble last year with the MOT, the brothers disagreed as to whether she needed a bit of welding done on her chassis. I told them if there was the slightest doubt I wanted it done. This year the pass report advised new front tyres shortly which I planned to have renewed before winter anyway. She does very well for a 17 year old. π
I don't think I can manage long trips now so will probably start in North Wales. I would like to get to Cornwall one more time. Margaret and I used to spend a lot of time in Perranporth and I've never yet missed my annual visit to my son's apple tree near Dorchester. His friends planted the tree over his ashes in a little garden in front of what used to be his office. He grows some pretty good tasting apples. I shall just play it by ear and see how I get on, it gets harder each year. π
Just what the doctor ordered. I was getting myself stressed out with problems with the replacement garage, the smart meter and not breathing well due to humidity today. I got quite a laugh, made me relax. Thank you so much.
I needed a laugh today, so thanks. My first vehicle was an A40 Van, no windows in the back Β£25.00. This was before the MOT. only discovered, when I took a friend up Ilkley Moor, that the drivers seat was held down with bent meat skewers at the centre back only!! As the seat tilted backwards and I was holding my feet down to the pedals by gripping the steering wheel (praying it did not come off), I sent a few prayers up, very little traffic, so slid gently backwards down the hill, and my frien and I decided we would not tell her parents what had happened. She was fine for motorway journeys, had a friend put meat skewers in to bend round the front of the seat fixture. She lasted 2 years, good value for money.
From one happy camper to another well done and enjoy your travels.
I am seeing my surgeon on Monday at the new Papworth Hospital for the results of my lung surgery carried out at the old site. Will be very interesting to have a look round. Hoping for the all clear, fingers and everything crossed so that we can take off in our Motorhome somewhere hot.

Brilliant news, now to make more memories in her. ππ±π»ββοΈπ
I think I'm likely to stick to well trodden paths and not too far away. But you never know, perhaps with the encouragement of Midge and my two knitted friends, once I hit the road I might be fired up to seek out new adventures in far away places. π Loaded up like a chemists shop with medication and resuscitation equipment.π
