Hello Blackbird6. Yes it is an Ozzy name. Illawarra is a coastal region south of Sydney. It comes from an aboriginal name and has the meaning of "pleasant place near the sea" or "high place near the sea. It is a beautiful part of Oz.

I noticed the train track running along side of the pier, does it still run ?
Yes it still runs its 200 years old and the most rickety thing ever takes you to the end where the small ferry takes you across to town.
They have been doing charity nights to save the pier as it keeps getting threatened with closure 😌

I enjoy taking my grandaughter on the train and then walk the pier back out over the water it's a lovley area 💞💞
