Thankyou illawarra sounds quite an Ozzy name ππ
Reply (0)Report
Hello Blackbird6. Yes it is an Ozzy name. Illawarra is a coastal region south of Sydney. It comes from an aboriginal name and has the meaning of "pleasant place near the sea" or "high place near the sea. It is a beautiful part of Oz.
Reply (1)Report
Awww nice to know the meaning of where you are .
I have family on Perth Sydney and had a brother in Taz who passed away a few years back .
Never visited but would love to have seen it ππ

Blackbird6 you have a lot of connection with Oz. What a shame that you have not had a chance to visit. It is a long distance to travel, so it is not easy for all to do. Mind you it is a big country. I have never been to Perth.
I am sure though with family here you have seen lots of pics of places here.
Nice to chat with you Blackbird6. Thank you.

I noticed the train track running along side of the pier, does it still run ?
Reply (1)Report
Yes it still runs its 200 years old and the most rickety thing ever takes you to the end where the small ferry takes you across to town.
They have been doing charity nights to save the pier as it keeps getting threatened with closure π
Reply (0)Report
Oh! how fab is that, I can imagine its a thrill x
Reply (1)Report
I enjoy taking my grandaughter on the train and then walk the pier back out over the water it's a lovley area ππ

Itβs not often that a black and white is more interesting than a colour photo.

Chilla thankyou so much I really do like this one myself and that's not being modest I spend most of the time saying that's crap and press delete but I'm learning more each day and it will be forever and a day before I'm happy with a full set of pics πππ
