Hello
Hope everyone is well. Been some time since I last posted because thankfully I have had a relatively healthy 18 months.
I managed to get through winter without even the smallest hint of a sniffle. I now seem to have picked up a minor infection/cold from my 2yr old grandson and I’m very congested. I’m reluctant to start any anti biotics/steroids just yet because I have no SOB or fever, just a runny nose and increased mucus production.
However, what I’m confused by is that almost every time I pick up something like this I only ever seem to clear mucus from my right side. Firstly, is that something others experience or is it in my head?
I have never had a ct scan so no idea which side I’m worse on but could it be that my right lung is worse and therefore gets more infections or is it possible that my left lung is worse and struggles to clear mucus as a result?
Alternatively, I do have a very heavily deviated septum and my left nose is completely blocked, i could just have all drainage down my right side or does it not work like that?
I appreciate I will only get definitive answers by going to the Dr but right now it doesn’t warrant a trip and was just interested in the well informed opinions of some of the posters on here in the interim
Thanks
Sinclair
