Hi folks, been a while since I’ve been on, been running about like a madman trying to get as much work done as possible in the hope that I might eventually get a decision on which surgery option I might be suitable for & if they would even carry it out...being self employed with two young kids I had to make sure there a little something in the kitty if I did get a date.

After months of playing phone tennis with my consultant I finally get a call today to let me know that I’m not suitable for endobronchial valves, however they have decided that a bullectomy is the best course of action & she has put me forward to the team of surgeons for a date to get this carried out. A part of me is relieved that I now have a decision and an option there to help my health improve, however there’s part of me that’s letting my emotions run away with themselves!

Has anyone had this procedure? What’s recovery time like? How long were you laid up for?

Cheers all

Think that is similar to LVR, Lung reduction. I was refused that and valves. Good luck to you,let us know how it goes.

Wish you all the best Bluenose55 and hope that you feel so much better after this op. I have never heard of this so looked it up, and it seems to improve alot of problems that your condition gives you. Just hope that you are not smoking as this can make the procedure fail. Keep us updated and best of luck x
