The weather looked fair at 11 am, so Fidget and I decided to brave it and head up to the recreation ground for the dog show. I wasn't going to enter him into anything, just getting him out and about. It had already taken us just over an hour to do a healthy person's 10 minute walk, so we rested and then I did enter him for golden oldie and best rescue. Sadly before best rescue, the heavens opened and we had spots, horizontal sheets and hail. Thank God for a few gazebos. We were soaked nonetheless and I was persuaded that home was the destination for me. We missed the best rescue class, but I know he is the best anyway. We were bundled into a car and then it stopped raining!!!!! To be on the safe side we went home. I'm very glad if I'm honest that we didn't have to walk home. Fidget has had a good rubdown and is now flat out under a lovely warm blanket that he was given.
It was lovely to get out. Lovely to talk to people and see friends that I haven't spoken to for ages, but perhaps it was asking a bit too much of myself to walk so far.....until the next time.

I felt it, every step you walked, well done, but, Please Don't do it again unless your sure of a Lift home and Fidget wins every Entry you put him in. Good That it made you feel so Good meeting up with Friends. xxxx
The real benefit of your excursion was engaging, on a social basis, with others and people that you know, well done and I bet you feel all the better for it
I'm so glad you got there, and probably the other dogs were relieved that it rained and you left because they knew Fidget would have won everything 🐕🏆🥇
Being in the ‘real’ world, even for a short time, is well worth the effort. Sensible to get a ride back though. I bet you felt pleased with yourself although you must have been exhausted! Wonderful picture again. X

I'm so pleased you enjoyed the shows and got a lift home. I'm also pleased that I can see the pic as for a few days I've been unable to see pics by posters on this site or reply to posts. It was a few days before I realised my replies weren't getting through. Fingers crossed this one will !

So I can only echo them by saying that I'm so glad you managed to make it to the show, even though it took so much effort? But it seems that you did enjoy it (I'm sure Fidget did too?) so it was all worthwhile! 😊
