Oxygen assessment...Fed up

I have hypersensitivity pneumonitis since 2015, was ok for first year...was on occasional pred and antibiotics. Noticed my sats kept dropping about 8 months ago. So was put on ambulatory oxygen. Went for second assessment last month and this was increased to 16 hrs a day via a home concentrator plus ambultory canisters for out and about. I went for an assessment yesterday to see if suitable for portable concentrator...my it's a no as it's pulse and my sats dropped to 77 within a minute. I'm so fed up I'm 58 and my hubby 56 just feel well that's travel abroad out the window....question I was reading last night that TUI holuday provide free oxygen on plane, I wondered if anyone had info about bringing a free flow concentrator on the plane. Not to use but my issue is getting to the plane. I can't find any info online. I would need to hire this.

Hi cazza34 .

I'm not quite understanding. If you are on oxygen already, what is the difference between a concentrator that you have at home and a portable concentrator? I am guessing your concentrator at home is sufficiently keeping your sats up? Is it because the portable doesn't provide a high enough level of oxygen? Sorry I am just curious. I am pretty sure there are oxygen companies that can provide for you on your trip. Someone knowledgeable will be along soon. Take care. xx 😊👍

Hello Caspiana thank you for your reply much appreciated. The concentrator I have at home is set at 2L which I use 16 hrs per day 8 for sleeping and other 8 pottering around the house etc. The concentrator that the NHS provide for Ambulatory ie walking ( which is when my sats dramatically drop) are on pulse ie only when you breathe in although they go up.to 5L as they are pulse flow my sats drop down to 75 walking as I need free flow. I've been looking online and I think you can hire free flow concentrator on a trolley that you pull, which I'm going to look into.
