My husband had scarring on his lung, which causes pain, he was diagnosed with COPD 6months ago spirometry test was 80. 2 weeks ago they repeated the test and the last results were 60 percent, to me that a big difference in 6 months, can it progress that quickly? He also had asthma, I'm worried as he is only 50 years young, he's constantly tired, feels depressed.
Any advice regards Alana

Welcome! 😊 That is a big drop in six months. What did his doctor say about it? Does he attend pulmonary rehab? Is he active? Does he smoke? It is common for us with breathing issues to not want to move because we get out of breath. But exercise helps us to use oxygen more effectively. Also it keeps our heart strong, lowers blood pressure and can help out general outlook to be more positive. The key is really not to overdo it. Needless to say eating sensibly goes a long way too. I may be speaking out of turn so I apologise beforehand if I am. Warm wishes to you and your husband. xx 🌞🍀
Thank you Caspiana for your reply, my husband has really bad anxiety, so they felt pulmonary rehabilitation wasn't right at this time for him, as the thought of going out was making his breathing worse, he's seeing a copd specialist at the hospital next week. He was a one time a very heavy smoker, he still keeps active at home, and physio do come out to keep on top of his excise,
Very difficult position for you too Alana. Anxiety is so awfully crippling in so many ways. I hope he is getting some help for it. It is just so hard when you feel you can't cope. I am thinking of you both. *HUG* xx 🍀
