Does anyone know if Bronchiectasis can lead to other diseases. Since I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis in 2015 I have had Eczema. I get skin infections all over my body and have to take antibiotics because creams are simply not strong enough
Thank you
Paul

Hi Paul, I have no idea, but I have always had weak lungs since childhood and suffer from chronic psoriasis for which I have injections to control and also in the last year have severe dermatitis on my hands and awaiting to have allergy test done, so would be interested also to hear other peoples comments and experiences x
I think its due having a weak immune system when Bronchiectasis takes hold of your lungs. Obviously my lungs have been damaged due to the number of flair ups i have had
I have had bronch for 66 years since I was three. I don’t have any skin problems or a weak immune system. It has not resulted in any other conditions.
In my experience, excema seems to exist more alongside asthma.
One thing to remember is that your lungs, and your digestive system, are both exposed to the outside, so in some ways are like your skin but on the inside instead of the outside of your body. So skin, lung and digestive problems can go hand in hand, though not always.
