Bone question

Morning all. Hope you are all as well as can be expected. Quick question. When I breathe in and out I often hear/feel a double crack from (I think) from the front centre of my rib cage. It’s not painful, but it’s uncomfortable. Anyone else get this? I’ve got no idea what’s going on, so just wondered if any of you had experienced this 😊

Morning 2greys and thank you. At the end it mentions osteoarthritis which I have - worth mentioning to my gp then 😊

Hope you get that sorted out soon. Thinking of you Brian. Xxxx😘

Thank you. It seems a bit trivial in the grand scheme of things 😉 I’m sure it’s nothing serious, and reading the link 2greys posted, seems it could be osteoarthritis. Hope you and Pete are well 😘 xx

Just see what your GP says. It’s good 2greys sent that link Brian. We’re both doing well thank you. Take care xxxx 👍

This group is a mine of information and nothing is too trivial to ask. It usually helps someone else too. Glad 2greys could help, we will all be on first name terms with our doctors if we arent already! Xx

Good morning WB. Hope you are well. Yes it’s amazing what you can learn here, and how many friends you can make! I love it, but also find it ironic that I’ve made more friends since being unwell than I did when I was fit and healthy 🤣 x

Haha...thats so true! And none of the people on here mind how many questions you ask or how long you talk about your illness!

Managed to get my dad out for a walk with the dogs yesterday. He didnt want to go on his scooter. We had to keep stopping for him to get his breath back but we were out! Had to give him a bit of a pep talk because he would much rather sit indoors watching tv all day because it is effort free but I had to tell him that they werent giving him medication that would prolong his life for him to sit watching tv and wasting it! In time that might be all he can do but not yet so he needs to make the most of it!

Glad your walk went well, even if dad wasn’t quite as keen as you. Hopefully when he stops being stubborn (like I have had to) he will see that you are not just making a fuss, you are doing this for his own good. Enjoy your day xx

Hey Wellyboot 👋

My dad didn't like the idea of a wheelchair... until we bought him one and he loved suddenly being able to go out for walks with us again. He really didn't like the idea of a scooter though, so bought a quad bike!

Quad bike! Brilliant idea. I’ll tell Sara you said it was fine. I can just picture me now.... 😛🤣 x

Morning Brian, I mentioned this to my Consultant last week as I have RA & Osteopena?.( Years ago Diagnosed with Osteoarthritis) She said that Osteoarthritis can trigger little Breaks in the bones with just the smallest of effort. Oh, I said, so my Hip replacement was not a Hip Break? Sorry to be cynical, and I do love my Consultant, But, they don't always get the answers right. Osteopena is the Mild form of the Word leading to Osteoarthritis. Just a Stretch which could be a pull on a Sinew, small Bone. Hope your ok Brian. xxx

Good morning Hacienda. I was diagnosed with borderline ankylosis spondylitis some years back, and have since developed osteoarthritis in my knees, hips etc and severe osteoarthritis in my neck. This has generally taken a back seat to my lung issues. I’m sure you’re right about consultants; I’ll make a better judgement on that once I’ve actually seen one in about six weeks lol. Thanks for your reply, much appreciated x

Hi Brian, I dont have any answers to your question but thankfully 2greys is on it - so Im just saying hello and please dont imply your issues are trivial compared to others. We all have different stuff to sort out and the better we can do it, the more we can enjoy our lives despite having these diagnoses. We're all here to help with whatever is needed. Hope your GP is helpful.

You take care, xx

Hello O2Trees, thank you for the supportive post. I really appreciate it. I’m kinda getting used to doing as I’m told now and not being so stubborn lol, so will take your kindly worded advice on board 😊 Enjoy your day xx

Hello Cas. Hope you are well. It mostly tends to happen when I am laying on my side, and not all the time. It’s one of those things that I can’t be sure when it’s going to happen, but it’s quite often as I’m going off to sleep/watching tv or otherwise relaxed. It’s uncomfortable, but not painful. Hopefully it stays that way! Fingers crossed. Have a nice day xx
