Following episodes of visual disturbance which Opthomologist said is neurological, probably linked to optical migraine as I get the aura but no headache, my GP recommended a low daily dose of aspirin. FEV1 before commencing aspirin 2 weeks ago was stable for 9 years at around 78% but since taking aspirin it has dropped to 60% I'm wondering if this is just coincidence or the cause ?

Low dose aspirin
I get migraine with aura too, and only rarely get a pounding headache, but I can't take aspirin at all....it makes me vomit. I don't know if it affects my breathing though, as I haven't dare try aspirin again.
Could you check with your pharmacist first, or ask your main health professional.
Hi knitter thanks for your reply. I'll speak to my local pharmacist, even as a COPD patient it can take 3 weeks to get an appointment at my GP practice. I started getting the migraine aura about 10 years ago which effects both eyes (bright lights, blurred spot in the centre of vision surround by zig zag lines), however for the last 9 months I have had disturbances that only effects the right eye. It is intermittent, my vision is "jerky" everything looks as if it is moving up and down but it is not a problem with the eye. Fortunately I never had a migraine headache
I have been taking a daily low dose 75 mg aspirin for over a year now to ward off blood clots etc and find it has no bearing on my oxygen levels or breathlessness - hope that helps xxx
