Ellipta

Hiya

What does anyone know about Ellipta? I understand from my O2 nurse that she has spoken to the consultant and it’s been suggested I use this so when I see him on 16 May he will have a better understanding? I also understand it’s a powder based inhaler and what I am concerned about is how it feels inhaling powder as I struggle with stuff like this and end up choking. Any advice would be helpful. Hi, Julie. Sorry I haven't experienced Ellipta as I'm on Seretide. I think that if you make sure your mouth and throat are moist before you take a dose, and have another drink immediately after, that should help.

Were you able to tell the nurse about your concerns?

Hi, no I’ve not spoken to her today but I will before I take it. Just a bit pensive that’s all as sits all very new to me.

This is one that I use and don't have difficulties with. I suggest that you talk to the chemist and ask his advice on the correct way to use it. They have dummy ones that gives you an idea of what to do. Chemist know most about the drugs etc that they dispense.

I have used it in the past and didn’t have any issues, hopefully you will be fine. Is it Anoro or Breo or some other inhaler?

I’m not sure I don’t have it yet. She just told me the name.
