Thinning Skin.

β€’32 Replies

I think I'm becoming invisible,

I recognize all the signs.

My skin has now become so thin

I can almost see inside.

So seek out the advantages.

That's what I always do.

Like when I do my weekly shop

I'll no longer have to queue.

I won't be done for speeding,

No police would ever dare

To say he stopped a motorcar

And found there's no one there.

There is of course a drawback..

I can hardly bare to tell.

They won't know if I've past away

Until I start to smell.

(Who said that I always did anyway?πŸ‘Ώ)

Really brightened my morning Don. I think we can all identify with that poem as we get older and our skin thins.

β€’ in reply toPantani

I’m glad of that and it is a really bright morning too here. πŸ˜€ I think it’s the steroids that do most of the damage. I also have to use some ointments that have the same effect.

As for the effects of steroids I am always dissapointed that a course doesn't give me a body like Arnold Schwartsanager.πŸ’ͺ

β€’ in reply toPantani

Would you remember what to do with it? πŸ˜‚

I guess it would me more for show than blow as my mum would say.πŸ˜₯

Oh lovely, yes I am a papery ghost of myself. The vistors in the 600 year old building where I guide must think that I am some of the timeless energy that fills it. I certainly scare some of them!

Skin Stealer - Poem by Shel Silverstein

This evening I unzipped my skin

And carefully unscrewed my head,

Exactly as I always do

When I prepare myself for bed.

And while I slept a coo-coo came

As naked as could be

And put on the skin

And screwed on the head

That once belonged to me.

Now wearing my feet

He runs through the street

In a most disgraceful way.

Doin' things and sayin' things

I'd never do or say,

Ticklin' the children

And kickin' the men

And Dancin' the ladies away.

So if he makes your bright eyes cry

Or makes your poor head spin,

That scoundrel you see

Is not really me

He's the coo-coo

Who's wearing my skin

Sorry master Po your post got under my skin(in a nice sort of way) and i itched to reply :) xx

Now that's my kind of poetry, I'm glad you scratched your itch Grasshopper, thank you. πŸ™‚xx

Good one Don. It's seeing those tiniest of veins makes you think you can almost see the blood moving. Love your sense of humour.
