Chest infection?

Hi Folks

I've got emphysema, I have a 3rd of my lung capacity, but am very fit and active, only use oxygen for the gym so far.

Was diagnosed 6 years ago.

Anyhow. I had a horrible cold last month, which seems to have cleared up, but I've been left with a really tight chest, out of the ordinary breathlessness even on the flat, lower oxygen levels, a productive cough with clear mucus, sore back and arms .. and a general feeling of miserableness

Any ideas please?

You will need to see your GP. It is possible that you have inflammation of the airways, if this is so, then unfortunately you will need a course of steroids, but no antibiotics. I had this happen three times last year. My lung function is very similar and I am fit also but not on oxygen yet.

When i have a chest infection i always have oral steroids tablets and antibiotics, works for me
