Answer = yes

Pulmanery rehab will help to recondition your muscles a fit muscle uses less oxagen as its more efficient. Rehab will show you how to safely get back up and doing. It will also give you lots of information about your condition and how to deal with it and explanes youe meds and how important exercise and a good diet is to your well-being. Well done for today. small steps and you will get thear

"why now do i struggle to breath when before diagnosis I didn't...or did I.."

Did you have a chest infection prior to being diagnosed? An infection can cause damage, perhaps enough to send you over the tipping edge of noticing, plus you are now more aware of your condition whereas before you may have put it down to "just getting older".

I use to wonder the same thing, until I decided to stop mourning and just embrace my condition and only work towards my future.

Had infection December ended up in hospital...in hindsight think I never actual got over infection in October. After being ill in December....but you are right get up and get on

Hello Hidden . 👋

2greys makes a good point. At some stage we have to leave the mourning stage and move forward. It comes sooner for some and later for others, but it comes. Just know that many of us are living with end-stage disease but we are living life to the fullest we can manage, and kicking butt (sorry admin😯) at it too. Sink or swim comes to mind. 😊 You will too. *BIG HUG*

Hi Emily61 if we don't try then we can't say one way or another. So get your gym gear on and show them what you can offer. Good luck 🤞 and drink plenty of water 💦. X

Hi, good that you have made some progress, The pulmonary rehab team will test you initially then put you thro' some exercises but not more than you do, they will monitor you to see that you can cope. It will make you stronger and more able to exercise at home.

They should also teach you how to breath properly which may make your breathlessness easier to manage, the exercising will help you to build strength, that is key to making you more able to cope. Good luck with the course most people enjoy it and you get to meet people that are better/worse than you.

Have you thought about a 3 wheeler push along trolley, it helps you get around the house without taking too much out of you, not too expensive I got mine thro' complete care, who do a range of this type of assistance.
