Hi richamorris . I've not used them myself but I know that the BLF Helpline suggests Fish Insurance as a company to try as they're supposed to have a good understanding and knowledge of lung conditions.

The BLF also have a partnership with Fish whereby every policy sold or renewed will see Fish make a donation to the charity. Here's a link with more info: blf.org.uk/our-insurance-pa...

Best of luck finding insurance - where are you going in the US?

Thanks for that info. I fly long haul to SA normally every year but was unable to make the trip last year and currently researching companies for the best premium and cover for this year. Lung conditions seem to push the premium so that sometimes I pay almost the same for that as the flight!!

Hi, it’s all about the underwriters not the insurance company. I used allclear once and had to really fight my claim through ombudsmen and solicitors, I had a $86,000 us bill. I won my case after 2 stressful years. Their underwriters Mapree had terrible reviews. I now use spectrum insurance, I researched their underwriters background and they have very good reputation. I would suggest you research first and make sure they know absolutely everything about you. Good luck and have a great trip
