Im going to try to learn the steps though it may be a bit hard with my ambO2 on my back. But we'll see. What a creative, if regimented, way to get kids exercising.

Sunny and happy down here in Kent this morning. Love to all :)

A pleasure Usern. Love your heritage tomatoes too!

ha ha, if you achieve that 02 good on you. I'm not on oxygen and know I would be out of puff very quickly. Maybe I could do 1 minute worth :D PS want to view video if you do achieve it. Have fun :D

I was going to say: And that's easier because . . . ?! And then I got it. Still, if I could do as much as the grandad I would be thrilled. :)

Fabulous video O2! Good luck with your practice. If you had shown me this ten years ago I would have had no problem doing it. However, now I doubt if I could manage half dozen steps. Looking at it, it makes you want to get up and do it. If only?

I think I'll stick to my exercise bike and rowing machine. I'm not daft, when I can't do anymore and need to get my breath back then I'm already sat down, on both. Easier than collapsing into a heap on the floor :D

Hi O2. As you’re an ambo user, may I ask, have you ever found your sats drop when you walk outdoors, but not indoors? I’ve been referred for ambo O2 but I can do the 6mwt indoors (sats 89-90) whereas outside it’s more like 6 steps before sats nose-dive & heart rate shoots up (even when it’s not cold.) Does this make any sense to you? As they do the 6mwt indoors I’m sure they’ll say I won’t benefit from O2.

Yes, to an extent. With my daily wanderings round the house Im fine and I can run up the stairs without dropping beyond 90 and often not as far as that. I can walk up and down our long hall at a slowish pace for 10 minutes without the ambo, but if I speed it up and walk for 15 minutes which I do fairly regularly, it goes down to 86/7. Same with walking continuously at my PR maintenance session. So I use the O2 for that, but a certain amount of the setting (2 lpm) is probably used just for carrying the weight of the cylinder on my back Im sure.

If Im going flat out as in a 6MWT I go down to around 84 indoors but outdoors I also go down quite easily even if Im walking slower.

Without knowing why/how you came to be referred Im not sure what to say. We're all so different. Im borderline - e.g. lifting weights (4k each side) without oxygen is no problem. Anaerobic activity is fine - in fact I go up above my normal resting O2. Stepping for 2 minutes is also possible without oxygen but when continuing for 3 minutes the saturation drops to 88 or below.

I guess you just need to be assertive with the physio and tell them what you are saying here. If they wont listen then ask for a 24 hour pulse oximeter to monitor yourself over a period of time. You could also do that yourself over a 24 period - probably wont be as accurate as their regularly calibrated oximeters but it would give an indication.

Let us know what happens. Some medics listen, and sadly some dont.

So lovely that you are on here more now Hanne :) :)
