Eosinophil count?

I’m just wondering if the eosinophil count on a blood test had any relation to the lungs, as on two occasions mine has been abnormal or does anyone know the meaning of this result. simple replies only please 😂

I have an Eosinophil count at the top end of normal. Basically it is a type of white blood cell, a high count can indicate that your body is fighting off inflammation. As a result the corticosteroid content in my preventer inhaler (Fostair) was doubled. Prior to that I was having to take oral steroids a lot. Since having the stronger inhaler I have not needed oral steroids at all. A much safer long term option. I hope that was simple enough.

Eosinophils are produced in response to an allergen so, if you have hayfever or asthma, then you will have a higher count.
