Seeing my doc tomorrow because for about 3/4 months my phlegm/mucus production has been on overload and its just getting worse and worse. Im wondering is it a natural worsening of my position or can something be done about it? I seem to have an odd form of COPD apart from the advance of this mucus production. If Im at rest my pulse is round about mid 80s, Blood sats about 97, BP 130/70 but once any walking takes place above say 20/30 steps my vitals hit the roof. I take Mucodyne daily and the release of the mucus is easy but I suppose travelling fast into my 70s there has to be some problems.
Just wondering if anybody has any tips to relieve this curse.
All do your best to stay well!

Have you had a ct scan or seen a consultant to check whether you actually have bronchiectasis or whether it has developed off the back of infections that you have had with your copd? If you are considering doing this make sure that you see a bronchiectasis specialist, not a general respiratory consultant.
Cheers littlepom I just thought it was a natural progression of my Emphesyma/COPD. My doc said I had a CT Scan about 15 months ago and I was clear but the coughing, phlegm and general tiredness makes me a leading candidate. Having read up on it I would make it favourite. Meanwhile I have to take a weeks worth of steroids. I wonder what is worth, Bronchiectasis or advancing COPD. I suspect I am soon to find out. Thanks for your help!
Yes copd infections can lead to bronchiectasis which will need it’s own specialised management. Good to find out. Don’t worry at all if it is. There are quite a few of us on here who manage it very well. I have had extensive bronch since I was 3 and now 68. I have had as normal a life as my ‘well’ friends and I am still giving it large. Knowledge is power. When you know which it is you can move positively forward. Have a lovely Christmas and I hope that you get to the bottom of it.
