Hello Lyla and welcome to the BLF. As someone who has had Bronchietisis for years I have an idea of your surprise. Hopefully your Doctor will gradually get your condition under control. A good routine of exercise and a healthy diet will go a long way in helping you to live a good life.

Regards, Rib

The one thing you need to do is rest when you are unwell .Make sure you continue with your physio routine and removing all the mucus .Itt is tiring when you have a chest infection .Do the exercise when you feel well .It can feel like one step forward and three steps back sometimes but looking after yourself is really important .

Some people do cough up blood but I have been lucky that I haven’t coughed any up for a long time until this week .For me it is a sign of infection .Not the only sign may I add as I get many infections. If you are worried and it is a lot of blood go and see your Gp.It takes time and effort to manage this disease .Have you got a good consultant who is Bronchiectasis expert? That is important .If you want to private message me with questions feel free to do it .I have had it a long time.

Welcome. I feel we all have varying degrees of symptoms depending on how severe our bronchiestasis is. Take care x
