Many thanks!

Can I just say many thanks to all the people who posted their comments on the forum, after I reported my GP has a policy of withholding Consultants diagnosis to patients, and I only discovered I had Emphysema and Pulmonary Fibrosis by chance last year. I have two letters from the Practice Manager saying with 10,000 patients it would be too difficult to copy in patients, another saying the practice had no intention of changing this policy, and one face to face appointment with my GP who said he couldn't cope with the workload! I have reported this to any number of NHS and other agencies, and it seems because GP's are self employed they can do just about anything they want without accountability, ergo: Harold Shipman!

Because I have exposed this duplicity and unprofessional conduct my GP decided to de-register me from his surgery, and told me to register with another one, which I am refusing to do! I plan to give out leaflets in the waiting room, informing patients that Consultants diagnosis may be being concealed from them, and will die there, as my medication will soon run out! (Incidentally to someone who had a go at me for mentioning I am a Christian Quaker, Quakers cannot tell lies, or be untruthful, its in our DNA!, but we have a long and honorable tradition of challenging authority, and fighting injustice)

Once again thanks to the many (over 100) people who replied and their support, and am sorry I can't spare the time to answer all of them, forgive me!

I always ask to be cc'd in on letters to my GP from consultants! It is your right too I think?

Hi

Disrupting the running of a GPs practice, by issuing and protesting to vulnerable and sick patients is not the way forward. And would draw little sympathy from me. There is a grievance procedure in place, if you fail to get the answer you so crave then there must be good reason, possible the other side of the story is more valid.

Saying thanks and then repeating the main body of previous post, only serves to keep your topic, above all others, relevant. And will very soon become tedious.

It really is time to move on and address your own health issues and receive the treatment you require, from a different and probably more understanding practice.

Sorry Dumpton, as much as I wish you weren’t in this situation, I completely agree with Stone-UK. However you feel you’ve been treated, or mistreated, their are ways forward that would not cause disruption to other patients.

Just editing this to add that in my honest view, their is nothing worse than watching a completely one sided argument, where the other side has absolutely no opportunity to reply

Hi - thanks to all who have commented. I am going to lock this thread as it is repeating much of what has been already said in the original thread.

Thanks everyone.

Ben
