Hi my ex has home NIV, has been in & out of hospital for the last 12 months with exasperation’s he is currently on morphine & waiting for home oxygen.

Our 2 children have been to see him after not visiting for a while & his stomach, face & eyes are all bloated.

Can anyone explain where they think he is upto he is only 46 and because we are seperated I’m finding it difficult to support my children not knowing the exact medical details .

Hello MissPJ .

Firstly, I am very sorry to read about your ex. This must be a very difficult time for you and your children. If I understand your question correctly, you want to know what the prognosis for someone in his situation is. The truth is no-one can tell you that for sure. This is something you will have to discuss with his medical team.

May I ask how old your children are? Are you caring for your ex? Or does he have a carer? Please remember to look after yourself as well during this time.

I am sending you warm thoughts and hugs.

Thankyou so much for your reply.

They are 25 and 21 and no I’m not caring for him.

He has been poorly for a good 12 months, getting hospitalised at least twice a month I’m just putting pieces of info together from the bits I hear as we don’t teally get along.

Best wishes to you and Thankyou again x

Hello again. The children are all grown, in fact they are exactly the same age as my two. 😊 Depending on their relationship with their father, I think they are old enough to be active participants in his interaction with his medical team. That would take the burden off of you as well. Wishing you the best. xx 🌿
