Hi, just had the results through from my 3.5cm & 2cm lung biopsyies, one was a non cancerous benine mass and the other was scarring containing fibrosis? Full lung/chest scan showed nothing else apart from my known bullous emphysema, no follow ups required as these two were taken out.
Is this right and will it return?

The surgeon told my husband that there was no absolute guarantee that a benign nodule wonβt return, but he could remove it again if it did...thatβs the beauty of benign, they donβt spread! Johnβs surgeon froze the site to discourage it. Three years on, and so far so good.
No wonder. Itβs always worrying when doctors say something but donβt explain it. Thankfully thereβs always someone here who knows what it means. I often wonder how youβre doing, I hope youβre as well as can be π
I think a good many of us probably have an element of fibrosis scarring within our dodgy lungs which is quite different from a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis or IPF so in my opinion Dave absolutely nothing to worry about and anyway it is an ex tumour sitting in someones petri dish in a lab somewhere and no longer resident so bye bye redundant tissue.
Good for you David, Agree with Ski's, I too had a "Nodule on my Left lung, Had to be seen to "Not Grow" before I was Listed for transplant, every 4 months I have my "Tracking" at QE, The scans show it is Stable. Stay Strong Hun. XXX
I have Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis - lots of scarring/fibrosis. Had "the cancer conversation". No signs. No guarantees but I would say don't worry about the fibrosis - it's probably normal scarring- you can get it following flu etc. So so pleased u have great result. Getting back to living with less worry!
Briliant news.really pleased for you.hope you dont mind me asking but did your chest xray show a shadow.im really concerned about my dads as his did.fibrosis was mentioned once then nodules and emphasemia now this shadow.i am so scared the ct scan is next week.
