Hi,
As promised here is another update to my pulmonary rehab course. The course is usually broken down into 1st hour for excercises, and second hour for lessons/ lectures.
I have gradually let myself get so de-conditioned over a the last 2 1/2 to 3 years, that I have very little muscle left, so when anything like movement is concerned, I had massive symptoms of breathlessness.
The exercises consist of an initial walk around the room which I always find very scary although I am doing longer distance than lesson 1. ( still only the length of a typical 12 bed ward ). Then 3x10 sets of rolling arm curls with 1 1/2 kg weights, rest between each set. 3x10 sets horizontal leg lifts , sitting down and lifting foot horizontal with floor 1/2 kg weight on each ankle. 3 x10 sets vertical arm lifts from shoulders , straight up ( slowly) 1 1/2 kg weight.
3x 1. Minute pushbike pedals on exercise bike with rest in between each. On parallel bars ,standing and simply raising heels and down again, 3x10 ,rest inbetween.
So that's it basically. I would just add that the staff are fantastic. I am a bit of a quitter to my shame, but they simply sit and tak you through your fears, and make you feel good after you attempt something . They won't let you hurt yourself, but need you to learn that's it's really not the end of you, just being breathless.
I will continue to do these follow ups, I think anyone who can should investigate PR on you tube also.
Bye for now .
