What newspaper is that article in?

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

The Times, the only one they have in my Swiss village apart from the Financial Times. The truth is I get it for the puzzles! And the sport! I avoid anything about Brexit!

Thanks Fran. A supposedly reliable paper. But I hadn’t heard that before. So many of these medications have terrible side effects. Not that I take blood pressure medication but my brother does.

Enjoy your puzzles 😎 I like doing sudoku but not crosswords.

in reply toHungryHufflepuff

The opposite for me 😃 Crosswords and not Sudokus!!

I love doing sudokus but I’m not very good at crosswords!

I used to enjoy crosswords when they were about current afffairs and general knowledge, but now they seem to be cryptic questions which I don’t understand or questions about tv which I don’t watch.

Before my mum lost her sight she used to do a cryptic crossword everyday but couldn’t do sudokus. I think it’s how your brain works - I’m very methodical in everything l do and she thinks in a completely different way to me.

Pleased your back home safely. I'm having a comedy day starts now,,,no food no drink.......travel 30 miles....a little relaxant.. and hopefully the camera slides down nice and easy. Gastroentology at 1.45, hoping this is the last test. Enjoy your papers Fran, is your mum ok.?. Jane

"Between the Devil and the dark blue sea" comes to mind, damned if you take them, damned if you don't. I think that I will continue too take the pills until told not to. My cancer is being monitored, my ticker is not.

Oh yes it’s the best course of action. Trust your doctor xx

Happy reading and puzzling. I enjoy Sudoku and crosswords too but find the daily Times too challenging. We do the Sunday Times and have done for years. Some weeks it's easier than others. We often don't finish it.

I got a tinge of sadness hearing you are back in Switzerland because I'm missing my son and granddaughters and would usually have gone in October but For the foreseeable future we're stuck at home.

Hope you're mum's doing well.

Enjoy the lovely swiss air

Best wishes

Corin

Well I hope that’s not true Fran, Pete and I both take blood pressure meds. Xxxx

Ask your GP Carole. Who knows these days if it is medical news or lobbying?? I wonder honestly, it’s like food: one day you can eat dark chocolate, drink red wine and coffee, the next day it is a slow killer!

Love,

I saw that. Really cheery, especially as I have been on ACE inhibitors for ages and am being checked for lung cancer. The risk seems very small though.

The big word here is "Linked"! Most likely like the MMR scare once again will be proved nonsense. Until a scientist is willing to say " flog me if I am wrong"! I take these stories with a large pinch of Himalayan salt.

A pharma told me that every drug you take long term, you'll get those side effects.. Acid reflux dosn't seem like a dangerous pill.. This one they wanted me to take caused Heart problems after a year plus osteoporosis plus really long term alzheimer's... Instead I got a bed and sleep on a angle no side effects.. Blood pressure pills in every friend caused problems.. Look at the side effects long term every one I knew got them... Some times it is better to diet then to take a dangerous drug.. The drug companies create drugs to take other drugs .. I was on a pill that caused me to have high blood pressure the Dr wanted to give me another pill to bring it down .. I just went off the pill that caused the problem.. Don't trust drug companies for any long term safe drug there isn't one on the market.... Ask your pharma...

Another Scare to Ignore....so Glad your home with your Mama Fran. I also love Puzzles, Suduko on line where I am timed, I used to do them in just over 1 minute, nowdays it is 2.5 mins. I also love "Word Finder" I buy two papers a day just for that and I also Buy the actual "Books". of which I tend to complete too quickly, roll on Christmas, Perfume, Lippies, and Puzzles. Abrazos Carino para ti y tu Mama...Besos. xxxx

in reply toHacienda

Hola Carolina

Bea buys the actual books too, she got me the codeword book, I haven’t made a start on it. I am slow and easily distracted these days..loads to do!

Love y abrazos

More to worry about, Fran. John’s been on blood pressure meds for years.....and also treated for a benign, thankfully, small lung tumour....3 years ago now, but seems to have led to a patch of bronchiectasis, so another inhaler. Seems worlds better since removed though. Thanks for the info.

I envy you your newspaper puzzles but newspaper print smell a trigger for me these days....all ‘perfumes’ are. I read the Guardian online but the crossword includes very easily accessible answers....and I’m impatient! No longer the same. Suduko online a bit of a passion though, timed n all.

Wishing you a cosy, if possible, weekend with your Mum close by. 👩🏻 👵🏻 and ⚽️ for us both tomorrow. Daren’t go to the local pub again to watch, I seem to be in anti-MU territory there 😡 Spoilt the fun!

Love 🌸 Penny xx

All drugs cause other problems a pharma told me that every drug well cause side effects long term usage.. I got in shit for not taken this pill ,that after a year of taken it will cause, Heart problems, Osteroporosis and Alzheimer .. This pill is for acid reflux ...In stead I bought a bed were you sleep on a angle... I don't trust medications long term they harm your body.... Not surprising at all .....

Take comfort in the fact that more people will develop Brexit indigestion than lung cancer and things could be worse and you could have received an invitation to take tea at the Saudi embassy.

Enjoy those broadsheets my Happy friend... :)

So true skis. I can’t worry about what might happen. Pete takes so many drugs and he’s doing ok. His mum was fit as a fiddle but has vascular dementia/Alzheimer’s so who knows what’s around the corner.

Keep taking the tablets. Love to Scruffy. Xxx 😻😍😘😘😘

Hello Corin 🌺

Sorry you are missing your family! Are they coming over for Christmas?

It’s hard yes, I cheat a lot 😃 and look for answers on google when I am stuck. It teaches me words and helps me to keep on thinking. I like the Polygon and the codeword as well.

I don’t always finish either.

Pouring down today, supposingly a bad week.

Mum is so so but as you know medical care is good over here. She thinks the place is clean and the nurses are kind, which is the main thing for her at 90. She seems to have had a set back though, she is repeating things a lot since the op. The shock of it all I think. I hope it will pass. I don’t say anything of course.

Take care Corin xx
