As a man with many conditions to confuse the Dr's and Specialists. I was told that it will be PH Awareness Week starting on the 22nd October. So I looked at their blurb to see if I can do anything and printed of a couple of leaflets.
I thought of what if anything I could do more for the awareness week? So I went to the web and looked up my local Radio stations but could not find a single way of contacting them other than by snail mail? So I drafted a short letter (Yes I can do Short) and off it went in the little red box at the end of our road. It was only this Weds that I got a call from our local commercial radio station wanted to know more about PH and the PH Awareness Week. We had a short chat and he said that are keen on doing a story on PH Sufferers and the PH awareness week!
I got my info prepared for the dreaded day and and we did a telephone interview. It was a not quite what I expected. He called me on my mobile first then asked what mobile I have and what I need to do on that to record my side of the conversation? while we conduct the interview on the land line? I hope it went well I did seem a little flustered at first but got into the stream.. Once we got that all over I had to send my recording over to him. I dare say that is the best way of getting the sound quaility right? He then asked for a Photo! I am not that photogenic and have said I have a good face for the radio?
EASY! Well this is me, I asked the wife to take the photo with me holding a "Breathless not Voiceless" Flyer but to get the light right I moved the wife Sad lamp to get a could light in the room. Which I manage to knock over a glass full of water all over the bedside table and the biscuits which quickly desolved on the top! After claring that up took the photo and sent it on.
Just got to wait now to see if they use it or not he did say they are keen on doing this! Probably depends on how or if they can edit my waffaling

The best, most comprehensive paper on PH, types, causes, diagnosis and treatment, is that produced by the European Respiratory Journal. They did one in 2009, and revised it a year or so ago. It is of great interest to me as a I have Chromic Thromboembolic Disease, but not PH. The latest ERJ guidelines say patients like me should be treated as they do have PH.
Offcut, presuming that this interview doesn't throw you into stardom straight away, will you keep us up-to-date with your recording? PH is often not understood, even by our local Doctors,so I'm keen to hear your recording. Well done!
What a great thing to do. 👍 I'm no good at public speaking so have great admiration for what you've done here. Too bad about the biscuits though, I hope you get some more! 🍪
