Hi I’m sorry to know about your ordeal, that’s really scary when it happens. It happened to me one time, on a flight back from Egypt, but I was on my return so didn’t have the fear of another impending flight to worry about. I have flown since and not had any problems but I was really worried about flying again (and in fact still worry each time) so I can understand you’re terrified. I have no medical knowledge nor do I know your situation so I can’t really give you any practical advice but in my case it turned out to most likely be an unfortunate combination of things exacerbated by the medication I was taking at the time, which had the side effect of lowering blood pressure, and I already had low blood pressure, and flying at altitude is the equivalent of being at the top of the highest mountain.
Are you able to see a doctor there who might be able to explain why it happened to you and if there’s anything you can do to prevent it happening again like taking oxygen with you on the flight?
Having something like this happen is scary but even worse when you’re far away. Wishing you all the best and hoping you can find answers and support.
Thank you for reply I hadnt took any medication for 2 weeks felt great and never packed any with me ...so silly of me but im here now dissapointed in myself x
I was wondering how you're feeling today. I don't know if you're there on holiday or to visit family but I hope you can enjoy your stay there without being overwhelmed the whole time by the anxiety of your return flight. When I had my experience, I don't remember much about it (thankfully!) but I was travelling with a friend who stuck by me throughout the ordeal. Are you travelling with someone? Thinking of you.
Thank you x iam fine seen doctor and started antibiotics its holiday and friend was fantastic she done first aid until airhostess took over I dont remember anything either just come round to oxygen on im fine now x
