Blocked nose and catarrah with NSIP

Hi all, things have been bobbing along quite well for me recently except for problems with a permanently blocked nose and thick gunge in my throat that I can't get rid of and I am constantly having to clear my throat. I know in the scheme of things it's not a huge issue but it is so annoying. I sleep propped up but inevitably wake up having slipped off the pillows and am therefore starting my day coughing and trying to clear my throat. Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with it?

Hi Have you got a saline nasal wash? That helped me. I have NeilMed brand x

I have the same thing and I use it almost every day. It really helps with dryness and post nasal drip.

Neilmed sinus rinse morning and night and a Sterimar spray help with nose and they're natural so no side effects. Try Gaviscon before bed as maybe some acid coming back up too. If things don't improve in few weeks go to the GP for a chat though. Xx

Hi, I ve found water gargle helps break down catarrh at back of throat - use water as warm as you can cope with. Because of the gunge in throat I gag when cleaning my teeth. Ultradex mouthwash can be used without a flavour and I've found it easier to deal with. It's very expensive but I feel it's worth it. Before bed I have fisherman's friend or similar so I start the night off with a moist mouth. Hope you find a solution x
