You'll have to excuse me for taking liberties, but why smoke at all if you think your lungs are compromised?

in reply toCaspiana

Jolly good. Keep that up. 👍

in reply toCaspiana

Yes that's not eve a ? for me. I'm so mad... I needed cash back to help pay for some beer and chose to buy smokes. Time machine please

Have you any idea what it is so far?

in reply to

Ger I'm afraid it's a form of ILD. Of course it's doomy. U don't have a cough or any excess mucus. So I don't think it has to deal with copd. Which I would welcome over ild. I'm broken at home as I just don't get how and why. I work out every day, good person, just a few bad habit choices here and there. Weekend b4 London trip hung out with guys, binged on smokes maybe like 6. But have not been same since then. Hurting mentally

Your only a young man but please try and wait and see what tests say..I'm an oldie with COPD,asthma, bronchiectasis and asbestos but I'm still hanging on in and enjoy my 3 granddaughters even when all 3 are hanging from me lol..

in reply to

I'm trying ger, fact of matter is I'm a big wuss. I want to meet my grand kids and grow old like my dad and mom. Enjoy those grand babies of yours. No matter how you got there that's a great milestone to have met

How do i get out if living my life in fear right now. Any suggestions?

Try to concentrate on today rather than the tomorrows. Pay more attention to those around you than yourself. Find something that interests you and invest your mental energy in that. When negative thoughts about your health and the future come into your mind, tell them to go or put them in a box on a shelf in your mind to look at later, and replace the negative thought with something positive - say a memory of a wonderful day, or something you love. Give yourself a meaningful goal and start working towards that. Keep in contact with other people, especially those who are grounded, like so many of the wonderful people on here.

Will do thank you

My chest gets so tight and instant projecting down the road and getting upset about the past

Live for the here and now. The future is just that, the future, and dwelling on the past will do no good at all. It sounds perhaps like you need a professional to help you deal with some anxiety issues. 😊

Good luck keep us posted at least you will know one way or the other what's going on , sometimes worrying about it is the worse thing , now onwards and upwards!

in reply toSevenstar

It is. Exhausting because I don't want anything to be wrong!

Well don't worry about what you can't control, let's hope for the best ,there's still every chance it won't be what you think , so we will all be thinking of you , let us know how you get on !

Dear rigcu1. You cannot possibly diagnose yourself with ILD. All diagnoses of all lung conditions require the correct, accurate and aporopriate tests. You are young, you simply have a problem which needs identifying and the the correct treatment and management so that you can continue to lead an active, happy and productive life.

There are many of us on here who have lived with severe lung problems all of our lives ( me with bronchiectasis since the age of 3 - 65 years) and have worked, and brought up our families. We still lead active lives and enjoy our grandchildren.

Stop panicking.

Thank you for the message. I want to be one of those people if diagnosed or not. I'm exhausted from the unknown. But appt is set and I'm taking my steps. Everyone have a great day.

Hi again, so you have an appointment for a lung transplant which is good news, take the opportunity with both hands. You still feel exhausted, not surprised with 3 to look after.

Try to take things a little slower, you are not an old man but conserving valuable energy will help. Try to keep fit you will need strength for op and after. Check with BLF nurses see what you can do exercise wise, they will have some suggestions.

Good luck wish you well for the forth coming appointment.

Hi Keith, as far as I read his posts, rigcu1 does not have an appointment for a lung transplant. He has had several xrays svans etc all of wich have come back normal but is still very anxious as to why he is breathless with a rapid heartbeat at night. Hopefully his upcoming appt with a respiratory specialist will give him some answers and a way forward

in reply to

Super anxious. Feel tired all the time even if I get good sleep. Anyone ever get itchy chest sensations? Inside and on skin?

Yes please because I have lost myself in this whole process. Complete 360.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone. Weird how I've met you all and have learned about these conditions. Seem to happen over night. Have a great evening or day

Sending good wishes to you. Please let us know how it goes. Until then enjoy and relax. Anxiety and our thoughts make things worse. I learn that lesson over and over. You've quit smoking....you've done the hardest part!!
