Hey guys, I was trying to write my reply in my post but I can't seem to figure if it's done it!! Lol...technology...and I'm only 40!!
Anyways,I finally saw my asthma nurse this week at my surgery &she asked my gp to double my dose of Relvar to 184/22mcg. I'm now on the highest meds my surgery can give me so if this doesn't help I'll get referred to hospital doctors. My peak flow has improved a bit...to roughly 330 and is seeming to stay similar...ish. But I am still using my ventilin up to 4 times pet night. Have got to see my gp the day before I go on holiday in a few weeks time. Will see whay she says.
Thanks everyone for your encouragement!!

Just keep on doing what your doing and hopefully you'll be ok'ish..and if your not chase up the hospital assessment nurse talked about, all the best Ger
Hi madonbrew, did your nurse tell you what your PF reading should be, everyone's normal PF is different? The reading you are getting seems very low to me. You really should know what you reading should be so that you know when you are in danger of having an asthma attack/infection. When are taking your PF reading? If I was you for the next day or so I would take the reading 1. When you wake up, before any meds or inhalers, 2. in the afternoon, 3. before bed, this way you will be able to tell the doctor what the readings are and when they alter, you should have a book to note these readings. Taking all your Ventolin/Salbutamol during the night, is also flagging up to me all is not well. I wouldn't leave the appointment with the GP to the day before your holiday, you may need further help before you travel. Take care and I hope you will soon be feeling better. Maximonkey
Hi Maximonkey, thanks for your message. I am recording my PF am&pm. My nurse did me a plan. My PF is never great...my highest ever has been 400. It's improved from 250 to 330....occasionally it's reached 350. Yes...I shouldn't still be needing my ventilin at night. I'll see how I go over the weekend. Thank you for your concern!...and Ger67
Hi Madonbrew, the reason I am worried is that my GP told me to always remember these rules about peak flow. My normal number is 360 if it reads 300 see the doctor, if if it reads 280 or below call an ambulance. Just take care of yourself. Maximonkey
Thank you. Your PF seems similar to mine. I knew when it was down to 250 it was bad. I probably should have popped to a&e then!! I feel ok waiting for my appointment as long as my PF stays what it is on these meds. If it dips...I'll definitely see Dr immediately or go to a&e!!
I have decided to get an appointment on Monday with my Dr as my PF going down again...310. I've got a pain in my chest&yesterday had loads of gunk...not coloured though. I can't put my finger on it...I get chest infections at least once a year in general but it doesn't feel the same. I just know somethings not right. It's my 40th birthday next week&have got lots of nice things planned then I'm off to Crete for 10 days on Oct 2nd so want to make sure I'm ok before I go!!!
Thanks Maximonkey...your post encouraged me to actually book to see my doc. Haha...do you ever feel like you almost need permission from someone to say it's bad enough to go?!!
