Salt is a natural lubricant, more suited if your more bronchi.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. My son thinks it's snake oil. All I can say is that the day's when I have it on all day I'm definitely not as snotty and congested. I have had days with it on when he's not here and days when I've not had it on because he's here. Beginning to think that maybe the problem is my son. I'm going to be keeping it on and see what happens.

There have been some good reports about salt lamps people do find they help. However there are some what I would call " knock offs" which are of poor quality. My advice would be to ask others for a brand that they use.

I do believe a number of forum members have tried "salt lamps" It seems they do suit some and not others. Try to contact BLF nurses they have a bit more info.

i visited my relation's in scotland recently, and although my cousin knew i suffered with copd she did'nt know how bad i was affected so she asked if i'd tried a salt lamp i said no, so unknown 2 me she went out and bought 1 and put in my bedroom , i woke up in the early hour's of the morning feeling as though my lung's were going to explode, left me gagging 2 breathe, it was put on a table beside the bed
I am not sure if they help but their warm glow is very comforting during the grey winter months. x
