Aids to hearing.

Hearing aids are wonderful things,

They mean you don't miss much.

You hear again the birds and bees,

Ticking clocks and such.

What people say about you

Cos they think you still can't hear.

You note to change your Will again

Those words will cost them dear.

They make you feel you're part of things

Were once you felt cut off.

But they don't half sound awful

When they amplify your cough!

Maybe that’s why Pete won’t get hearing aids Don. I hadn’t thought of that. Xxxxxx

Previous husband had a hearing aid, but still said he couldn't hear anything, until you mentioned the word "money".

Never had much joy out of my hearing aid, and they are expensive. As you say, some noises are amplified, flushing the toilet sounds like Niagara Falls, my own footsteps and of course coughing, but on Skype not much help at all.

Well I got mine under the NHS and the service couldn't have been better. I was advised not to wear them on the way home, which I thought was ridiculous so I ignored it. By the time I got home I was convinced that my car was falling to bits and needed urgent attention.

I have to switch mine off in supermarkets, never realised they were such a noisy place.

Countless squeaky trolley wheels and the fridges and freezers should come with a health warning at times.

Oh and who ever speaks over the speaker system still can't talk properly. lol

For a time mine used to whistle at everybody, people seemed to hear it better than I did wearing them. It took me a while to learn to adjust the volume level to suit my surroundings.

Its true Don, many on here suffer badly but a little humourous article could well help them feel better and we all need that from time to time. I don’t have a hearing aid at this moment in time, though I do often have hearing problems, especially after a cold or coughing fit.

Maybe I should think about a 👂 test. X

Oh gosh please don’t stop the rhymes Don. It’s precisely because there’s so much suffering that we need and love your rhymes. They make us laugh and lift our spirits and brighten our mood and sometimes just plain and simple make our day.
