Latest update to my posts. As well as the shortness of breath and tightness in my chest, I have had all sorts of minor ailments and feelings of being unwell for months. Last week I saw my GP because I had an ear infection for ages that wouldn't clear up. She took a swab. Today she rang me and told me I had MRSA. I have had this before. I have just googled MRSA and it seems like some of the side effects/ symptoms can be shortness of breath and tightness of the chest, does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this? I am starting to feel a little sorry for myself.

MRSA and shortness of breath.
Wonder where you you picked that up Tanseycat, where you at hospital recently but there again I suppose it's everywhere nowadays..Ger
Hi Ger, yes, like you said it is everywhere now. I seem to visit hospitals quite a lot, I have all sorts of weird and wonderful things that happen to me, so have to go for check ups. I also take my Dad to hospital quite a lot, he has had five strokes, I actually caught the Norro virus after visiting him once, that resulted in me acquiring an auto immune disease that was a bit touch and go for a while, my blood platelets were attacking and killing each other. So now there are a few rules I have to stick to so it doesn't flare up.
Have a great evening x
Oh my you have been through so much I feel quite humbled..and seems a bit shallow to say you have and nice evening also Tansycat, take care
You’re allowed to feel sorry for yourself sometimes. And even stomp and say It’s Not Fair. Being strong all the time is exhausting. So it’s ok to just give in and wallow. But only for a little while. Then you get right back up there better than before.
Sending you heaps of positive thoughts 🌺🌸🌼
Tansycat1 - my OH had MRSA for a number of years. This was some time ago. Eventually it cleared and he hasn't had a recurrence. I have no memory of it making his asthma/bronchiectasis worse. With the infections and your immune problems perhaps you have picked up another bug that is causing your symptoms. It is possible that you have picked up another bug that has colonized your lungs. You ought to consider sending a sputum sample off to the laboratory for culture. Take the the sample first thing in the morning and make sure it is from deep down in the lungs. Get someone to deliver it to the surgery or hospital asap as you don't want it sitting around.
I hope that your doctors can find what is wrong and treat you. Your symptoms sound asthmatic.
