I’ve taken it for HI but I am intolerant to it as it geves me tendonitis. Mnd I am intolerant to a host of medications. Many people find it a very useful medication (if the bugs you are growing are sensitive to it of course). It is often used as a first line of defence in pseudo.

Thanks! Im sorry it didn't work. Did your symptoms dissapeared while you were on cipro and then they returned? Or they never dissappeard when you took it?

Could you get rid of pseudo with any other drug?

No chest infection with pseudomonas didn't go away kept sending sputum samples to be analysed but it always came back positive. Yes they can try to iradicate with other drugs. But they try with ciprofloxacin first. Majt

My OH has had this drug on many occasions. Most recently was a two week course early this year, given for pseudomonas. Can't remember the dose but it was twice a day. The pseudomonas came back a few weeks later so he had another course and it didn't work so was given Tobramycin and this did clear it. Hope you have had sputum cultures done because it is important to get the correct antibiotic.

I have 750g Cipro as my rescue pack. One to be taken twice day. It did not work on my last exacerbation and sputum test revealed it was resistant to Cipro on that occasion. I ended up in hospital having Tazocin IV which worked brilliantly. I still have the Cipro indoors just in case though. Read instructions very carefully because there are restrictions on eating/drinking certain things within an hour of taking it. Good luck.
