Phlegm stuck in upper throat impossible to cough up!

My 6 yrs old daughter has this phlegm in her throat that give her though time coughing up. She ends up vomiting sticky mucus and makes lots of choking sounds but the phlegm stays put. Its worst because she is just a child.

Definitely take her to the Dr. I have the same problem & I've been prescribed something to help break down the mucus, so they might have something similar available for children.

As it is now the weekend, before you get to see your doctor on Monday, may I suggest you get your daughter to drink lots of water as I have read that water thins the mucus/phlegm.
