What kind of a source for oxygen does one use when his needs are higher than the condenser will deliver.? My husband is needing 8 while sitting and 12 when walking. His condenser only goes to 10. he is using a tank when he is walking but the tanks will not last long. I am wondering what he needs?

You probably need to go back and converse with your husbands respiratory team. Hope you get something sorted that helps more soon.

If you are in the UK why not give the helpline a call also for further advice and suggestions.

Thank you

We are in the states. I have a call into his Doc.

We think it is a flare. But his needs seem to be going up the last few months.I wondered when it isn't a flare what the option would be. I can't find anything on line to tell me.

Hi

Is liquid oxygen available, there is a flask that will do 12lpm continuous but only last 1hr 30min.

He has tanks for when we leave the house.

It has a control when goes up to 15lpm. We have used it at that rate when he takes a shower. Now he is using it at 12 when he gets up on his feet. But Im sure it won't last long.

Hi

The largest in U.K. that goes to 15 continuous last only 41 min.

Sounds right.

As you are in the states, you would have to investigate what is available in the states, your oxygen suppliers may be able to help with that and pulmonologist. But perhaps if it is a flare best get that seen too asap.

I have just been prescribed an oxygen conserver to use with my oxygen tanks which apparently makes them last longer. I cannot tell you any more as I haven’t got it yet! At present I use 4 l/m for exercise, and my tank lasts about 1.5 hours. I cannot use an oxygen concentrator as I need continuous flow, so life can be a bit limited.

My husbands concentrator is electric. He hasn't been able to use the battery one for a long time. It only goes up to 10 .It is continuous flow. And I'm wondering what he is to do when that isn't high enough. Is there another kind of concentrator anything other than the tank?

Hi

Its common practice to link two concentrator together to achieve the required oxygen levels. As long as they are both set to the same flow rate. ie two times six for 12lpm. Not 8+4.

Hi

A conserver only works on pulse similar to a concentrator. Will not deliver a continuous supply. I use Ambulitory oxygen 4lpm with a conserver.

Hi

I use the conserver on my supplied cylinders. Which I use in-house and when exercising.

The reason for the G3 is because I live on the first floor, climbing stairs with a shopping bag plus cylinder and trolley was a no no.

The G3 on setting 4 worked to the satisfaction of the oxygen team on my reviews.
