IPF & LUNG COLLAPSE - Any information would be useful

Hi, I have had IPF for 5 years and felt I was coping well. I carried on as normal, exercised well and ate well. 6 months ago prescribed ambulatory oxygen. No problems - used the tank when walking the dog or doing anything strenuous. Suddenly a month ago woke in the night with terrible pain and ended up in A&E. Drain fitted and lung re-inflated but not fully. Out of hospital after a week with a Pneumostat Chest Drain system. My lung has still not fully inflated, I go back each week for dressing change and X-ray, and am only suffering minor discomfort. I feel no-one is sure what to do next - ANY ADVICE WOULD BE WELCOME.

So sorry to read what you're going through, BoomBaggy. I'm afraid I can't help you as I haven't experienced that. Just wanted to wish you all the best for a speedy recovery, and a few brain waves for your medics so that they know what they should do next for you.
