Just back from my annual review. I did did not expect to do too well as getting over a bout of Costochondritis. However blew 5 over my previous best which I am very happy about. Following pneumonia 18 months ago my first blow was mid 50s today it was high 60s average of the three blows I did. Pleased that giving up smoking and exercise appears to have helped me.

Hi chriskho interesting because my GP said once lung function has gone u cannot improve it so in other words your FEV1 will never go up but I find your reading encouraging like I can work at improving my FEV1. Thank you

The damage will always be there but with exercise etc you can improve how the lung functions.

My lung function Fev1 has definitely increased I think it’s a combination of keeping as active as possible. I went back to work 2 days per week and don’t sit around as much🤞and being on the right inhalers. Good luck.
